New Relic integration

Fleep has a customized webhook for New Relic that allows you to post New Relic alerts into Fleep conversations.

Follow these steps to setup your New Relic integration.

How to create hooks for application, key transaction and server alerts (critical and downtime)

  1. Create the conversation where you want to receive all your New Relic updates.
  2. In that conversation open Conversation Settings > Integrations and click on the Add button and then Create on the next popup window to generate a new hook for your New Relic integration.

  3. Copy the hook URL from the Active integrations list that opens up in Fleep.

  4. Log into New Relic and open your Account settings.

  5. Once you’ve opened your Account settings, scroll down on the page and from the left pane find ALERTS > Channels and groups

  6. On the Channel and groups page click on the Create channel button and choose Webhook from the drop-down menu that appears.

  7. Fill in the required fields, insert the link you created in Fleep into the “Webhook URL” field, select your notification level and complete the setup by clicking on the Integrate with Webhooks button.

  8. Congratulations, you’re done, now you can add this hook as an alert channel to a group or policy.

How to create hooks for mobile and plugin alerts, and deployment notifications
(note, the beginning is the same as for previous setup!)

  1. Create the conversation where you want to receive all your New Relic updates.
  2. In that conversation open Conversation Settings > Integrations and click on the Add button and then Create on the next popup window to generate a new hook for your New Relic integration.
  3. Copy the hook URL from the Active integrations list that opens up in Fleep.
  4. Log into New Relic and open your Account settings.
  5. Once you’ve opened your Account settings, scroll down on the page and from the left pane find INTEGRATIONS > Alerting notifications

  6. Select the Webhook tab, fill in the “Webhook URL” field and click on the Integrate with Webhooks button.

  7. Congrats, you’re done!

NB! when creating a webhook, New Relic will always send two test messages, you can ignore those! And if you get in trouble, feel free to check out New Relic own documentation about webhooks as well.
