If you’ve been fleeping for a while you’ve probably noticed that not all Fleep users can be easily identified by their name. Some decide to use an “alter ego” instead of their real name for their online persona and in some cases you might have too many people with the same first name so you wish that you could add an extra identifier to them; such as their workplace, last name etc. To help with this we’ve added an option to edit contact names.
The editing bit is actually very simple, to start with it you need to open up the member’s Profile view first. There are two ways how you can get there:
Option 1: Open the Members tab under the subject line of the conversation and click on the small triangle next to the member’s name and choose Profile from the drop-down menu that appears.
Option 2: Alternatively you can right-click on the member’s avatar in the conversation and and choose Profile from the drop-down menu that appears. Then continue as described in the first option.
In the Profile view, click on Edit next to the member’s name. This will allow you to make amendments to the name and rename/edit it to your liking. This will not affect the member whose name you changed, in fact, they won’t even know you did it. This change is visible only to you.
This was our #fleeptip for today and we hope this will help you to use Fleep like a pro and if you have any #fleeptips yourself to share with the community don’t hesitate to share them with us on our social channels (Twitter, Facebook). Always happy to hear what you’ve got to say about Fleep!
