Conversations bulk actions in Fleep

What this means in practice is that you can now select multiple conversations and apply one of the following conversation actions to all the conversations you selected: mark read, archive, delete, add members and remove members.

How do bulk actions work? There are three ways in which you can select conversations to apply bulk actions.

You can select multiple conversations one by one, select a range of conversations, or select all conversations under a label.

Option 1: Select multiple conversations

In the simplest version, all you need to do is right-click on a conversation on the left pane, and choose “Select multiple” from the conversation actions. Checkboxes will appear that allow you to select multiple conversations.

Then, all you need to do is to click on the action you wish to apply from the top header - mark read, archive, delete, add or remove members.

Option 2: Select a range of conversations

You can also select a range of conversations to apply bulk actions to. First, choose a conversation with the “Select multiple” action, then press down your Shift key and click on another conversation – all of the conversations in between the two will be selected, too!

And then just click on the action you wish to apply from the top header - mark read, archive, delete, add or remove members.

Option 3: Select all conversations under a specific label

Now, if you click on a label, you can “Select all”. This will select all conversations under that label that are visible. It will not select the conversations that are at that point hidden under “Show more” (if there are any).

Again, choose the action you wish to apply - mark read, archive or delete – and it’s done.

Why bulk actions?

The conversations bulk actions are especially handy for those of you who have connected your email with Fleep or just have a lot of traffic in Fleep. We hope the bulk actions make it easier for you to manage your conversations.

Fleep integrations now include IFTTT, Giphy, Slack and more

Integrations make team communication tools more powerful for you. Here’s a little round-up of the latest additions to the list of Fleep integrations:


IFTTT (IF This, Then That) is an awesome app for connecting Fleep to hundreds of other tools and services out there. With our IFTTT integration, you can have IFTTT send a daily weather forecast to Fleep for you, set up a daily reminder, or even have IFTTT send a message to your SO when you’re arriving home. Basically, you can use the IFTTT integration to make your life a whole lot easier.

The Giphy integration is pure fun – use it to share the world’s best GIFs in your Fleep conversations. You don’t even need to set anything up – simply type /giphy into the message box, followed by a search term keyword and hit Send! A matching GIF will appear. Like magic.

Slack integrationSlack

The Fleep-Slack integration enables you to connect any Slack channel with a conversation in Fleep. Once the integration is set up, all messages posted in the Slack channel get posted in the Fleep conversation, and vice versa! As such, the Slack integration helps set up communication across teams who prefer to use different team communication tools – Fleep and Slack.

Outgoing webhooks

Fleep integrations

Webhooks are an easy option for do-it-yourself Fleep integrations if you’re OK with a little bit of coding. We’ve had incoming webhooks since forever – and now we’ve added outgoing webhooks, too! Which means you can send messages out of Fleep conversations to another system. For example, you could build an integration that posts your Fleep message on Twitter as a tweet.

Manage your Fleep conversations with labels

Labels help you manage and organize your Fleep conversations, so you can keep your focus on the conversations that matter most.

labels-blogThe labels in Fleep are a lot like folders in email clients. As such, adding labels is a change that will affect two parts of the current Fleep user interface: the left pane (conversation list) and the header of each conversation. Labels will appear on the left pane as label groups and next to the conversation header. Note that the labels are visible only to you, not to other users or members of the Fleep conversations.

By default, you will see the Recent label on the left pane. This is a system-generated label that includes up to 20 recent conversations. This list does not contain conversations that have been starred or muted. Which brings us to the other system-generated label that you might encounter on the left pane: the Muted label.

The Muted label contains conversations that you have muted for a while (an hour, a day, a week) or forever. If you muted the conversation for a time period it will pop up in the Recent list again once the time is over.

Any additional labels that you add to your conversations (e.g. Work, Friends, Project X) will behave on the left pane using the same logic and rules as the system-generated ones. Here’s the basics:

  • Fleep Conversations can have none, one or several labels attached to them.
  • If any one conversation has several labels attached to it, it will appear under all of those collapsible labels on the left pane.
  • Once you create a custom label, it will appear on the left pane as well. Every custom label you create can be edited and deleted whenever you wish to do so.
  • All labels can be collapsed so you can keep your focus during the day (e.g. Work, Personal) and can be organized and reordered however you wish.
  • Only you can see, create, edit and remove your labels.

Open the Fleep conversation you wish to add a label. In the top right corner of the conversation interface, you can find a tiny label icon – once you click on it, a popup menu will appear, where you can create new labels. Once a label has been created, it will appear in that same popup menu.

If you have created a label or two, you can use the same popup menu to add and remove labels – by ticking or unticking the boxes respectively.

How to manage labels?

If you wish to edit, delete, rearrange and organize your labels, you need to navigate to the ‘Manage labels’ view. To get there, click on the ‘Manage labels’ button shown above or find it in the menu that appears when you click on your profile in the bottom left corner of the interface.

In this view, you can do a few things:

  • Use the toggling options to configure whether conversations with any particular label will appear in the conversation list, under Recents and under the Muted system label.
  • To edit or delete labels, hover over a label’s name – and the edit and delete buttons will appear.
  • To rearrange labels, you can just drag and drop them into the preferred order:

Introducing the Giphy integration in Fleep

We’ve built a Giphy integration to bring GIFs into your Fleep conversations in a quicker, easier way. Using the Giphy integration couldn’t be easier – it works with the slash command /giphy. Just type /giphy into a Fleep conversation, followed by any keyword and hit Send. This will post a randomly selected GIF from the Giphy library to the conversation like this: giphy integration Yes, we know we’ve cautioned against creating unnecessary noise in team chats, so you wouldn’t have to break up with group chat and all its benefits. Well, this integration is perfect for all the Fun Chats, Watercooler and Random conversations you may have in Fleep. (If you don’t have one of those yet, now would be a good time to create one! ;) ) Should you get tired of the GIF playing on an endless loop, just click on the tiny little > arrow next to the gif to collapse it:

The > button will collapse or expand the gif.

Ready to give it a go? Open Fleep and type /giphy into a conversation to start the GIF fun! Go crazy. Even if just for 5 minutes. P.S: Do note that the /giphy command works on the web and desktop applications only – it is not supported on the mobile apps.
